New Horizon NGO and City Library announce PUBLIC CALL for youth leaders and civic activists from Ulcinj to apply for the training program “Empowering Public Participation in Decision Making”.

The program includes a cycle of five one-day seminars and aims to improve the knowledge of youth activists on the concept of local self-government, its role in state organization, the position of local parliament, mayor and local government bodies – the competencies and functions of local government; how to use the services of public administration bodies, access to information of public importance, etc.

Training sessions will be organized once a week (on Friday afternoons) at the YOUTH CORNER, at the City Library.

After the end of the workshops, participants who have successfully attended the training program will be awarded with certificates for the gained knowledge and experience.

Program participants will be given the opportunity to communicate directly with local government representatives through study visits, where they will be closely acquainted with the work of the municipal bodies. The project also enables youth leaders to participate in conducting field research, organizing public events, media presentations, etc.

A special focus in the project will be the realization of educational and information campaign on the use of services e-Participation and e-Petition “The Voice of Citizens” and the promotion of proactive transparency as a standard of good public administration.

All of these activities are part of the project “MY VOICE IN MY MUNICIPALITY”, which is implemented by New Horizon NGO in partnership with NGO “Ul info” and the City Library – Ulcinj.

The project is funded by the Ministry of Public Administration of Montenegro, in the framework of the public competition “e-Democracy – Participate, Propose, Change”, in the field of public administration reform.
