The specialized training “Good Governance and Anti-Corruption” took place from September 25th to September 27th in Ulcinj. It was dedicated to the media that operate in Albanian language in Montenegro and civil society activists.

During this activity, participants had the opportunity to strengthen their capacities through a special training program related to engaged journalism, monitoring as a tool for bringing change in society, the model and monitoring techniques used by BIRN & Internews Kosova, monitoring of public money, monitoring the promises of mayors, etc.)
The trainers also presented the strategy of fighting corruption through social media and ways to create teams of investigative journalists, the basis of investigative journalism, building credibility and trust among the public, using info graphics to transmit investigative data, etc.

Lecturers and moderators of this activity were Jeta Xharra, leader of BIRN and moderator of “Jeta në Kosovë” and Faik Ispahiu, leader of Internews Kosova and founder of Kallxo.com.

This program aims to build an effective partnership between the media and civil society organizations, as the main necessity and condition for a more informed public in the fight against corruption, strengthening the rule of law, good governance and democracy in general.

The project is implemented by the NGO New Horizon in cooperation with the newspaper “Koha Javore”, and is supported by the US Department of State – Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL), under the Civil Society Program for Criminal Justice.
