NEW HORIZON started the implementation of a new program helping children with special needs.The first project in this field of activities is called “Assistance that I understand”, which in the next six months will be implemented in the rural areas of the municipality of Ulcinj.The project is supported by The Slovak Agency for International Development and Cooperation SlovakAid.

The project is dedicated to children with disabilities in the rural areas of municipality of Ulcinj. Through this project, “New Horizons” will support the efforts of many parents in this area to establish an Educational Center for the treatment of children with disabilities, but also to facilitate their efforts in providing adequate care for their children in home conditions. All this program will be implemented through the provision of adequate technical and material assistance for work at the Center, the translation of adequate literature (guides, brochures, etc.) in the local language for parents and staff working with children, and also through raising public awareness about the importance of supporting such projects and initiatives.

Within this project, New Horizon published a special GUIDEBOOK for parents of children with special needs – first of this kind in Ulcinj and Montenegro. The guidebook can be downloaded on the links below:

In the local community unit VLADIMIR, which attracts more than 10 villages of the rural part of Ulcinj Municipality, we have equipped the Educational Club for children with special needs. These activities are supported by Slovak Aid.
